Aug 13, 2018 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is deleting one of four routes to Macedonia from Swedish airports.
The carrier will let go its route between Skopje and Vaxjo, launched on July 14, 2017, with the last service on the route to be flown on September 16, 2018, citing low demand in the market.
Wizz Air is, however, maintaining services to Skopje from its three other Swedish destinations, Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo.
Until the end of June 2018, Wizz Air benefited from the Macedonian state support scheme for launch of new routes to Skopje, now leaving the carrier free to evaluate the individual routes on its own merits while also receiving no further state support for the operations.
