Aug 24, 2018 (newstodate): It may not be on the immediate agenda - but now at least the formal preconditions for opening direct flights between Poland and New Zealand have been established.
During a Polish state visit to New Zealand, Poland's president and New Zealand's prime minister have signed an air services agreement establishing liberal conditions for performing scheduled air connections between Poland and New Zealand, including traffic via code-share agreements.
This air services agreement is the first between the two countries.
The Polish carrier LOT is amid an aggressive strategy to build an intercontinental route network including routes to the Far East with a fleet of eight Boeing 787-8 and three Boeing 787-9 aircraft, with a further four Boeing 787-9 aircraft to be added.
