Aug 15, 2018 (newstodate): Danish Air Transport has signed a long-term lease contract for two ATR 72-600 aircraft, the first in its fleet.
The ex-factory aircraft leased from Singapore-based Avation Plc, are slated for delivery by September/October and will initially be allocated to operations on the carrier's Danish domestic route network.
-We have obtained best-ever lease conditions for the aircraft as ATR is currently piling new ATR 72-500 and -600 aircraft in a market with low demand, says Jesper Rungholm, DAT CEO.
-The timing is excellent as two of our aircraft are now going out of service, while three aircraft are dedicated to our services in Italy after winning three PSO routes connecting the islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa with airports in Sicily.
-In our fleet are thus 23 aircraft and there are currently no immediate plans for further acquisitions. However, should we land a new long-term contract requiring additional capacity we might well consider further ATR leases, says Mr Rungholm.
The DAT Group comprises DAT and DOT, a Lithuanian subsidiary, operating domestic flights in Denmark, Norway and Italy, as well as offering ACMI and charter services.
