Aug 30, 2018 (newstodate): Despite the "America First" policies pursued by the current US administration, Air Greenland has succeeded in landing a fresh contract period for flights supporting the US Thule Air force Base.
The new five-year contract comprises 12-14 annual flights for US Air Force by Air Greenland's Airbus A330 aircraft between Copenhagen and Thule, as well as 25-26 flights with Dash-8 aircraft between Kangerlussuaq and Thule.
For 15 years running, Air Greenland has operated these flights under previous contract periods earlier held by SAS that retreated from serving the route between Copenhagen and Kangerlussuaq in 2003.
