Jul 03, 2018 (newstodate): July 1 marked the 5th Anniversary for Japan Airlines' flights from Tokyo to Helsinki.
In cooperation with Finnair, Japan Airlines now operates one daily rotation between Tokyo Narita Airport and Helsinki Airport with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
With a daily cargo capacity up to 30 tonnes on the Boeing 787 aircraft between Helsinki and Tokyo, Japan Airlines also plays an important role in the Finnish and Nordic cargo markets, with Norwegian seafood as a prime commodity on the route.
Until October 2017, the cargo capacity on Japan Airlines' flights to Tokyo was managed by Finnair Cargo, but sales and marketing of the capacity are now back in the hands of Japan Airlines, with cargo handling provided by Swissport from January 1, 2018, replacing the earlier contract with Finnair Cargo.
