Jul 04, 2018 (newstodate): Breaking an otherwise positive growth trend in provision of freighter uplift at Norway's Oslo Airport, one significant provider is pulling the brakes.
With effect from this month, Qatar Airways is reducing its offer in the Norwegian seafood market by suspending one weekly Boeing 777F flight from Oslo to Doha.
Qatar Airways Cargo became online at Oslo Gardermoen Airport from January 29, 2013, with a Boeing 777F freighter as a stop on the route from Amsterdam to Doha, and has since grown its presence in the market with up to 10-11 weekly freighter calls at Oslo during high seasons.
As of now, Qatar Airways will be operating three weekly freighter operations at Oslo Airport, but capacity is also provided by Qatar Airways' passenger flights between Doha and Oslo since October 5, 2011, and now offering 11 weekly flights between the two destinations served with Boeing 787-8 aircraft lifting some 20 tonnes of cargo.
