Jul 04, 2018 (newstodate): The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is continuing to build up traffic to Georgia, in the Caucasus region.
The latest new Wizz Air route to Georgia was launched on July 3, 2018, establishing the first direct non-stop air link between Romania and Georgia.
Wizz Air is thus now offering three weekly rotations on the route between Bucharest and Kutaisi, on Georgia's Black Sea coast.
With this new route, Wizz Air is operating flights to Kutaisi from 20 European airports including also flights from Riga in Latvia from March 25, 2018, and from Vilnius in Lithuania since March 31, 2014.
Wizz Air will not for long remain the only carrier to operate non-stop flights between Romania and Georgia as Tarom plans to start operations on a new route from Bucharest to Tbilisi from August 1, 2018.
