Jul 30, 2018 (newstodate): Georgia is increasingly manifesting itself as an attractive tourism destination, and this is strongly reflected in latest statistics covering January-June 2018.
Passenger traffic at Georgian airports has increased by 30.79 percent, y-o-y, to 2,103,149 passengers which is an all-time high figure.
Passenger volumes though the country's capital airport at Tbilisi were up 30 percent to 1,675,058 passengers, volumes through Batumi International Airport were up 42.62 percent to 190,279 passengers, and passengers through Kutaisi Airport increased by 27.81 percent to 234,774 passengers.
Most notably, the country's Georgian Airways ranks #1 among the five largest operators, ahead of Turkish Airlines, Wizz Air, flydubai and Ukraine International Airlines.
