Jun 05, 2018 (newstodate): The Danish regional carrier SUN-Air is unique in having no less than 1/4 of the world's operative Dornier jet aircraft in its fleet.
Billund-based Sun-Air, franchise partner with British Airways since 1996, is currently operating 16 of the 111 Dornier 328 Jet aircraft built, which is roughly one-fourth of the aircraft still in commercial service.
Earlier operating turboprop aircraft and still with two Dornier 328 turboprop aircraft in the fleet, Sun-Air acquired its first two Dornier 328 Jet aircraft from AvCraft for delivery in 2004, and signed a lease contract for a further six aircraft delivered already a few months later.
Sun-Air is operating the aircraft into 11 destinations on its schedule comprising flights to airports in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, and the UK.
