Jun 21, 2018 (newstodate): Russia's Novosibirsk Tolmachevo Airport is seeing sustained importance as a freighter airport serving the traffic between Europe and Asia.
During the first five months of this year, the airport has been handling some 900 freighters on routes between Europe and Asia, handling some 12,900 tonnes of cargo in the period - an increase by 13 percent, y-o-y.
The airport now serves regular flights by Russian and foreign airlines including Cargolux, Lufthansa Cargo, Uni-top Airlines, Volga-Dnepr, Aviastar-TU, AirBridgeCargo, CargoLogicAir and others, with the frequency of cargo flights with transit landings reaching 55 per week.
Also since April 2018, Lufthansa Cargo has increased the frequency of technical landings in Novosibirsk, now performing 15 flights per week between Germany and airports in China, Japan and Hong Kong.
