Jun 13, 2018 (newstodate): Oslo Airport is to get its first direct non-stop air link to Israel from this winter schedule.
Norwegian has announced the opening of the new route between Oslo and Tel Aviv with the first flight on October 31, 2018.
The carrier is to operate the route twice-weekly with Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The opening of the route will also draw applause from Norway's exporters of seafood that will provide a catch for optimization of the passenger flights using the belly cargo capacity on the aircraft.
While passenger flights between Oslo and Tel Aviv is a novelty, CAL Cargo Airlines has been operating a weekly Boeing 747-400F carrying Norwegian seafood export shipments from Oslo to Tel Aviv, Israel, since May 16, 2017.
In the period January 1-June 03, 2018, Norway exported a total of 2,336 tonnes of salmon to Israel.
