May 24, 2018 (newstodate): The new Ukrainian carrier SkyUp, now with its AOC and its first two Boeing 737-800 aircraft on the tarmac, has filed its application for start of flight operations with Ukraine's State Aviation Service.
SkyUp thus applies for rights to operate regular flights on the Kiev-Odessa, Kharkiv-Odessa, and Lviv-Odessa routes, with three weekly rotations tarting from June 1, 2018.
The also applies for rights to operate flights to Barcelona, Larnaca, Rimini, Alicante, Palma de Mallorca, Batumi, Burgas, Varna, Tenerife, and Tirana and back, also starting from June 1, 2018, and the carrier finally applies for rights to operate charter flights to 32 destinations including Antalya, Dalaman, Bodrum, Sharm-el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Tivat, and Tirana from a number of Ukrainian airports.
The applications will be handled by State Aviation Service on its forthcoming meeting on May 30, 2018.
The airline is fully owned by Ukrainian capital, with 50 percent of the stake held by the two owners behind the country's leading tour operator JoinUp, Tatiana and Yuri Alba.
