May 07, 2018 (newstodate): Ukraine International Airlines has now taken delivery of its 2nd Boeing 777 aircraft.
The second of four Boeing 777-200ER aircraft ordered by the carrier, the aircraft was delivered in Kiev on May 4, 2018, and will be allocated to serving the airline's long-haul routes between Kiev and New York, Beijing, and Bangkok.
Two more Boeing 777-200ER are scheduled to arrive in Q2 and Q3, 2018, respectively, one of which is is slated for delivery in late May.
All four aircraft, earlier operated by Asiana Airlines, are delivered on a lease contract with AerCap.
The new aircraft will gradually replace the existing fleet of four Boeing 767 aircraft from 2019 and allow UIA to launch new intercontinental routes to destinations including Toronto and Shanghai.
