May 30, 2018 (newstodate): Mykolaiv International Airport, in southern Ukraine and close to the Black Sea, is planning for a rebound in air traffic.
With a 2,555m runway, the airport has now been certified to handling of freighter aircraft and is also striving to build up passenger air traffic from this year already.
The airport is now working to set up cooperation with a handling company as a prerequisite for accepting passenger traffic, and talks are reportedly being conducted with airlines including Turkish Airlines and Ukraine International Airlines, and the airport is also in talks with a company in Georgia for start of cargo services.
