May 03, 2018 (newstodate): Estonia's Tallinn Airport continues to grow again in cargo volumes in 2018.
In April 2018 the airport thus saw an increase in cargo by 19.8 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 797 tonnes.
Volumes included 290 tonnes of exports, up 5.6 percent, and 491 tonnes of imports that also increased by 27 percent.
Growth-wise, the most marked development was in import mail that was up by no less than 77.7 percent, y-o-y, driven by huge growth in e-trade commodities for onward distribution.
Excepting January 2018, all months have seen double-digit cargo and mail growth figures.
After the first four months of this year, the airport has handled a total of 3,808 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 9.8 percent, y-o-y.
This year's recovery follows on a dark result in 2017 when the airport saw volumes down by 18.8 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 11,314 tonnes.
