May 24, 2018 (newstodate): Within a few years, Poland will see the opening of a new engine maintenance center, EME Aero at RzeszowJasionka Airport in southeastern Poland.
Behind EME Aero is a joint venture comprising the German companies Lufthansa Technik AG and MTU Aero Engines AG, and plans are to start construction works soon after having now named a general contractor for the project.
Slated for commissioning in 2020, the annual capacity of the coming new maintenance center will be some 400 engine maintenance and repair jobs with a focus on the PW1000G family engines used on the Airbus A320neo and other modern aircraft.
Eventually to employ some 800 staff, EME Aero is to start its recruitment process by Q3, 2018, and plans to have its own training center.
