May 22, 2018 (newstodate): The 9th Bombardier CS300 in the colors of Latvian carrier airBaltic is now in the air.
The aircraft has started on its flight test program, with the first lift-off on May 19, 2018.
The latest delivery to the airline was on February 3, 2018, when the 8th aircraft was entered on Latvian registry, and the airline earlier said the next deliveries will start from summer 2018.
If plans hold, airBaltic will thus receive no less than six CS300 aircraft during this year's H2, bringing the fleet to a total of 14 aircraft in 2018.
Plans are to have 20 CS300 aircraft operating by the end of 2019, which will complete the original order - which still hinges on an increase in output by Bombardier that has been struggling with sustained problems with the Pratt & Whitney PW1200G turbofan engines that are running behind delivery schedule.
