May 14, 2018 (newstodate): WOW Air is calling to press conference at New Delhi's Oberoi Hotel, headed by Skuli Mogensen, WOW Air CEO and founder, to reveal plans for launch of operations in India.
While final details are thus yet to emerge, the carrier has however already filed its operational schedule for flights between Iceland and Delhi.
In the schedule are an initial service with three weekly rotations between Keflavik and Delhi starting from December 6, 2018, using Airbus A330-300 aircraft, increasing to five weekly services already from January 7, 2019.
So far, WOW Air has built a comprehensive route network connecting Europe and USA via Keflavik Airport is its hub.
With the planned new service, WOW Air will offer efficient one-stop connections between India and its US destinations via Keflavik Airport, competing with US or Gulf providers that would require two intermediate stops including own hub plus onward flights to final destinations in North America.
In the fleet of WOW Air are currently three Airbus A330 aircraft, but deliveries of three new Airbus A330-900neo will start by the end of 2018.
