May 22, 2018 (newstodate): The new Ukrainian carrier SkyUp has obtained its AOC and has already performed its first commercial flights.
The AOC was granted on May 16, 2018, and already on May 19, SkyUp was in the air with its first Boeing 737-800 aircraft on a commercial flight.
This week, the carrier is taking delivery of its second Boeing 737-800 aircraft, and a third aircraft, a Boeing 737-700, will join shortly.
Finally, a fourth Boeing 737NG aircraft will conclude the initial fleet build-up in 2018 in the fall.
The airline is fully owned by Ukrainian capital, with 50 percent of the stake held by the two owners behind the country's leading tour operator JoinUp, Tatiana and Yuri Alba.
