May 04, 2018 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines has been cleared to expand its scope of business into the North American market.
GetJet Airlines applied with Transport Canada for a Foreign AOC in November, 2017, and after a strict verification process the carrier has now received the coveted certificate allowing it to launch air transport services to and from Canada.
-GetJet has been growing steadily for the past couple of years and so it is only natural that we are broadening our horizons, says Darius Viltrakis, CEO of GetJet Airlines.
-As we already hold an AOC, we only needed to apply for the additional certificate. Plans for what is next are already in the making, and we are eager to share them soon.
On January 7, 2018, GetJet received its IOSA-certificate clearing the sky for ACMI contracts with larger carriers that require IOSA status as a precondition for business partnerships.
In the fleet of GetJet - with Darius Viltrakis serving as CEO since February 1, 2018 - are currently four Boeing 737-400, one Boeing 737-300 and two Airbus A320 aircraft.
Set up in 2011 and based at Vilnius Airport, GetJet Airlines received its own AOC in 2016, starting business as an aircraft brokering company, but now focusing on charter and ACMI contracts for its aircraft fleet.
