May 07, 2018 (newstodate): Ukraine has filed a protest with ICAO over Russia's unilateral handling of Antonov aircraft airworthiness certificates.
Without cooperating with Antonov, the Russian aviation authorities has extended the airworthiness certificates of a range of Antonov aircraft types including the An-24, An-26, An-74 and An-124-100 Ruslan operated by Russian and CIS airlines.
The aircraft were designed and built during the Soviet times but Ukraine's Antonov retains the manufacturer's rights which includes the issue of airworthiness certificates.
