May 02, 2018 (newstodate): With the first flight from Hong Kong on May 1, 2018, and the first return flight from Copenhagen Airport today, Cathay Pacific is again online in the Scandinavian market.
The carrier will be offering three weekly rotations with Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
The period of services was originally set to end by October 12, 2018, but the service will instead run until October 26, 2018, seemingly spurred by a positive response in the market from the start of the booking period.
Cathay Pacific last served Scandinavia with flights from Hong Kong to Stockholm, Sweden, from February 14, 1995, first routed via Frankfurt and later operated as direct non-stop flights from winter 1995, but the airline pulled out again after a few years.
Cathay Pacific has picked WFS to provide cargo handling at Copenhagen Airport, while NordicGSA serves as its cargo GSSA in Scandinavia.
