May 16, 2018 (newstodate): Not quite surprisingly, Lithuania's Vilnius Airport reports a sustained growth in cargo volumes in April 2018.
With the first flight on April 19, 2018, Turkish Cargo is now operating two weekly Airbus A330-200F flights through Vilnius Airport, coming in from Prague and returning to Istanbul after the call at Vilnius.
Cargo volumes at the airport in April 2018 thus increased by 29.4 percent, y-o-y, to 1,045 tonnes, including 834 tonnes of cargo and 211 tonnes of mail.
While cargo thus grew only three percent, y-o-y, in April 2018, the increase in mail volumes was a hefty 43 percent, driven by a strong increase in e-trade import shipments.
During the first four months of 2018, Vilnius Airport has thus seen its total cargo volumes up by 22.9 percent, y-o-y, to 3,886 tonnes.
