May 17, 2018 (newstodate): The loss since April 19, 2018, of Turkish Cargo's two weekly freighter flights from Riga Airport to Istanbul did not leave a strong mark on the airport's total cargo volumes in April.
The airport thus handled a total of 2,248 tonnes of cargo in April 2018 which was an increase by 45.4 percent, y-o-y.
Volumes included 1,468 tonnes of cargo and 779 tonnes of mail which are increases by 66 and 17.9 percent, respectively.
Turkish Cargo launched operations at Riga Airport only from July 1, 2017.
During the first four months of 2018, Riga Airport has handled a total of 10,180 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 62.5 percent, y-o-y, including 7,036 tonnes of cargo and 3,144 tonnes of mail.
