May 09, 2018 (newstodate): Land-locked Armenia's air connectivity has been rapidly increasing in the last two years.
No less than 12 airlines have made their calls at Armenia's Yerevan Zvartnots Airport in 2017-18, including Armenia Aircompany, Brussels Airlines, Qatar Airways, Wataniya Airways, Germania, Arkia Israeli Airlines, Cham Wings, Air Cairo, Turkmenistan Airlines, Red Wings, Nordwind Airlines and Pobeda.
As of now, a total of 23 airlines are thus operating flights into Yerevan Zvartnots Airport that has one 3,280m ILS Cat II runway.
At the same time, the airport has added 1w new destinations to its coverage, including Lyon, Brussels, Doha, Kuwait, Berlin, Prague, Tel Aviv, Damascus, Sharm El Sheikh, Ashgabat, Frankfurt, Astana.
In addition, Belavia and Czech Airlines CSA have resumed flights to Armenia.
In 2017, the airport handled a total of 2,448,250 passengers as well as 22,324 tonnes of cargo.
