Apr 09, 2018 (newstodate): The Russian cargo carrier Sky Gates Airlines will add a third freighter aircraft to its fleet by Q2, 2018.
The airline currently operates two Boeing 747-400F, earlier serving its partner Azerbaijan's cargo carrier Silk Way, and they are now operating on routes to destinations including Baku, Maastricht, Hong Kong, Dhaka , Khabarovsk and Novosibirsk.
Receiving its AOC in September 2016, Sky Gates Airlines launched services in October 2016 with its first Boeing 747-400F aircraft, formerly operated by Cathay Pacific as is also the second aircraft delivered in June 2017.
The two aircraft were later operated by Silk Way West Airlines before transferred to Sky Gates Airlines.
Behind the new Russian cargo carrier is Sky Gates Rus as majority owner, and the Lithuanian company Avia Solutions Group that is the majority owner of Ramport Aero, the operator of Zhukovsky's passenger terminal.
Before Sky Gates Airlines, Russia's Volga-Dnepr was the only operator of the Boeing 747 freighter aircraft in the country.
