Apr 03, 2018 (newstodate): Georgia's new privately-owned carrier MyWay Airlines has now performed its first commercial flight.
The opening flight was performed on the route between Tbilisi and Tehran as a charter operation on March 31, 2018, but already later in 2018 the carrier will add scheduled flight services to Moscow Zhukovsky, St Petersburg and Samara, and to Tel Aviv, Dubai, Kiev and Minsk.
In the fleet now are two ex-Shandong Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft delivered in October and November 2017, respectively, a third aircraft will be delivered in July 2018, and a fourth will be added before the end of 2018.
The airline is part of the activities of the Chinese investment group Hualing that is also behind the establishing of a new industrial zone in Kutaisi as well as numerous real estate projects in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.
