April 23, 2018 (newstodate): From this autumn, Finland is to get its first direct air-link to Dubai by a Gulf-based carrier.
Starting from October 11, 2018, the low-cost carrier flydubai will launch flight on the route between Dubai and Helsinki with a daily year-round rotation using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
flydubai will thus become the first UAE national carrier to operate direct flights to Finland, and the first airline to offer a year-round service between Dubai and Helsinki.
The route will be code-shared with Emirates, and passengers from destinations on Emirates' global network including not least the Asian destinations can then connect to Finland with one stop in Dubai, adding new competition to Finnair's routes.
Helsinki is the carrier's 10th new destination announced so far into 2018, and flydubai's route network in Europe currently includes 27 points in Bosnia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, Greece, Italy, Macedonia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey and Ukraine.
