Apr 12, 2018 (newstodate): The launch date for flights on a new route connecting Kazakhstan and Lithuania has now been set for May 27, 2018.
From that date, the Kazakh carrier SCAT Airlines will be offering two weekly rotations on the route between Astana and Vilnius, served with Boeing 737 aircraft.
SCAT Airlines was on the list of air carriers banned in the EU until December 8, 2016, and as the latest Kazakh carrier SCAT has also obtained the coveted TCO certification from EASA granting full rights to operate scheduled air services between Kazakhstan and destinations within EU.
In the fleet of IOSA-certified SCAT Airline are now 18 aircraft including one Boeing 767-300, four Boeing 757-200, and seven Boeing 737 aircraft of various types, and in November 2017 the carrier placed an order with Boeing for delivery of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with options for a further five aircraft of this type.
