Apr 26, 2018 (newstodate): Representatives from the Kazakh carrier SCAT Airlines have been in Lithuania in preparation for the coming launch of flights between Kazakhstan and Lithuania.
Starting from May 27, 2018, the carrier will be offering two weekly rotations on the the route between Astana and Vilnius using Boeing 737-500 aircraft.
SCAT Airlines will become the 18th airline to operate scheduled flights at Vilnius airport, and Vilnius is to become the first EU destination served by SCAT Airlines that was on the list of air carriers banned in the EU until December 8, 2016.
The carrier sees the opening of the route as the first of new ventures to expand with new flights into EU markets.
