Apr 17, 2018 (newstodate): More details have now been released on the plans by Russia's Krasnoyarsk Yemelyanovo Airport for establishing an international transport and logistics and production center at the airport premises.
The new facilities will be designed to the capacity of handling up to 800,000 tonnes of cargo as well as 160,000 ULDs annually.
The coming terminals will cover 830,000 sq m and be located between the airport's two runways, and visions also comprise the construction of a railway line connecting the airport facilities to the Russian railroad system for multi-modal capacity.
The airport is now seeking commitments from international cargo carriers and claims AirBridgeCArgo as its first partner to the new business model.
Krasnoyarsk Airport is used extensively as a transit point on Asian-European cargo flights by an array of airlines including Lufthansa Cargo.
