Apr 12, 2018 (newstodate): The Danish charter and ACMI carrier DAT, Danish Air Transport is soon to take in its fifth Airbus A320.
The aircraft, formerly operated by Garuda Citilink, has been sourced from Aercap by Airstream and will be delivered in May 2018 after completion of maintenance works, in time for the coming summer peak season.
The process of identifying a viable aircraft in the market was started already in autumn 2017.
-The aircraft will be allocated to serving specific customers that have accepted the choice of an Airbus A319 while preferring the A320 offering more capacity. The A320 is much in demand but sparse in supply while there is an over-supply of the A319 aircraft in the market, Jesper Rungholm, DAT CEO and owner, told newstodate in November 2017.
When delivered, the aircraft will operate out of Aalborg Airport for Primo Tours, and out of Copenhagen Airport on contracts with various tour operators.
With the coming delivery, DAT is again with five Airbus A320 in the fleet after selling one aircraft to the Kyrgyz scheduled carrier Avia Traffic Company in January 2017.
DAT received its first A320 in April 2014.
