Apr 04, 2018 (newstodate): The Chinese carrier Sichuan Airlines is utilizing its 5th freedom rights to extend its service at Prague Airport, in the Czech Republic.
Starting from June 23, 2018, the carrier will operate flights beyond Prague to Zurich, in Switzerland, with two weekly rotations.
Since February 25, 2016, the carrier has been operating the route between Chengdu in China and Prague Airport with two weekly rotations served with Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Sichuan Airlines is planning for a major expansion of its routes to European destinations, including flights on a new route from Chengdu to Copenhagen from July 2018 to be served twice weekly with Airbus A330/Airbus A350 aircraft.
If plans are realized, Sichuan Airlines will be the second Chinese carrier to launch flights in 2018 to Copenhagen Airport where Air China is to start operations from Beijing on May 30, 2018, with four weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
