Mar 05, 2018 (newstodate): Launch customer for the Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter, the Swedish/British carrier West Atlantic is seeing a revision in the delivery schedule of the new aircraft.
According to the latest update, the carrier will take delivery of the first of four Boeing 737-800 freighters by the end of March 2018, previously planned for February 2018.
The remaining three Boeing 737-800 aircraft are now scheduled to arrive in August and November 2018, and in January 2019, against earlier August, November 2018, and February 2019.
The four freighters will be leased from GECAS, and the first aircraft has completed conversion at Boeing's modification facility in Shanghai.
The Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter will be equipped with CFM56-7B engines, and will carry up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with 12 main deck positions over 2,000 nautical miles.
-The Boeing 737-800BCF will be an enabler for us to make a leap in reliability, capacity, and ability to expand in areas of the world away from our traditional markets, such as Asia, West Atlantic's CEO Frederic Groth told newstodate in June 2017.
