Mar 21, 2018 (newstodate): The Swedish/British carrier West Atlantic has now secured the customer for its coming fleet of four converted Boeing 737-800BC freighters.
Launch customer for the Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter, West Atlantic will be operating all four aircraft on a contract with "an express logistic provider in its current EU-network".
West Atlantic is already serving TNT with allocation of Boeing 767 freighter aircraft on a contract with TNT at Liege for intra-European operations.
The four freighters will be leased from GECAS, and the first aircraft is due for delivery after conversion at Boeing's modification facility in Shanghai in Q2, 2018, with the last to be delivered in Q1, 2019.
The Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter will be equipped with CFM56-7B engines, and will carry up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with 12 main deck positions over 2,000 nautical miles.
