In February 2018, Turkish Cargo saw cargo and mail volumes up by 39.4 percent, y-o-y, with main contributors including the Middle East where volumes were up 61 percent, North America with an increase by 52 percent, and Europe where volumes were up 39 percent, y-o-y.
In January-February 2018, cargo and Mail volumes were up 44 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 195,000 tonnes.
Turkish Cargo is increasingly active in the Nordic and Baltic regions as well.
Starting from July 1, 2017, Turkish Cargo is operating two weekly rotations with Airbus A330-200F to Riga Airport as its first scheduled Baltic freighter destination.
Since October 30, 2011, THY Cargo has been routing an Airbus A310F freighter from Moscow via Stockholm Arlanda to Istanbul on the return leg of the operation between Istanbul and Moscow, now operated three times weekly.
Serving Finland, Turkish Cargo has been operating two freighter rotations at Helsinki Airport since December 2011, adding a third rotation in June 2016.
In the Danish market, Turkish Cargo started a freighter service from April 10, 2016, increasing to two weekly flights from October 2016.
Attracted by the Norwegian seafood exports, Turkish Cargo started its first freighter operation to Oslo Airport in Norway on Fridays on March 10, 2017, adding a second weekly freighter flight on Tuesdays from March 29, 2017, in both cases using Airbus A330-200F freighters.
In addition to the freighter services, Turkish Cargo also lifts cargo on its numerous passenger flights into the Nordic and Baltic markets.
