Mar 12, 2018 (newstodate): Cargo growth statistics at the Faroe Islands' Vagar Airport look impressive in February 2018.
The cargo handled at airport increased by no less than 211.8 percent, y-o-y, while still at a low, albeit growing, base of 150 tonnes.
During the first two months of this year, the airport has thus seen cargo volumes up by 110.7 percent, to a total of 240 tonnes.
Mail volumes in February 2018 were rising less spectacularly at five percent to 21 tonnes, with Jan-Feb volumes at 43 tonnes up by 7.8 percent, y-o-y.
SAS is offering 12 weekly flights between Copenhagen and the Faroe Islands, and Atlantic Airways offers two daily rotations during the winter season and four daily rotations during the summer peak season.
