Mar 27, 2018 (newstodate): Avinor is calling stakeholders in Norway's forwarding and seafood logistics industries to a workshop on April 18-19, 2018.
The workshop will focus on potentials for a new freighter service by Saudia Cargo which would mark the carrier's entry into the Nordic market.
-Avinor is constantly in close dialogue with cargo carriers to enhance the position of Oslo Airport as the undisputed North European leader in air cargo, says Martin Langaas, Avinor Director Cargo & Route Development.
-As part of these efforts, we have long been in talks with Saudia Cargo over launch of freighter services to lift Norway's growing volumes of seafood exports to the world's market places, and the workshop now announced is part of these endeavors, says Mr Langaas.
In the fleet of Saudia are 10 Boeing 747 freighters of various types including two Boeing 747-8F, as well as four Boeing 777F aircraft.
Since September 2017, Danish national Teddy Zebitz has served as Saudia Airlines' Cargo Chief Air Cargo Officer, based at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
