Mar 13, 2018 (newstodate): Cargo volumes through Latvia's Riga Airport are rising fast in 2018.
In February 2018, the airport handled a total of 2,567 tonnes of cargo, an increase by 60 percent, y-o-y.
Totals included 1,854 tonnes of cargo and 713 tonnes of mail.
In the first two months of this year, the airport has thus seen volumes up by 72.3 percent, y-o-y, to 5,031 tonnes including handling of 3,492 tonnes of cargo and 1,536 tonnes of mail.
One key driver in the airport's cargo traffic is Turkish Cargo's freighter service starting from July 1, 2017, with two weekly Airbus A330-200F rotations from Istanbul.
