Mar 23, 2018 (newstodate): The Polish airline LOT has now taken delivery of its first Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Orders have been placed for a total of three aircraft of this type, with the two remaining units to be delivered before the end of this year.
The stretched Boeing 787-9 aircraft are acquired on a lease contract with the US company Aviation Capital Group and will be entered into service on the carrier's routes to New York and Chicago and to Seoul.
The carrier took delivery of its first Boeing 787-8 aircraft on November 15, 2012, and now operates eight aircraft of this type.
Also joining the fleet in 2018 will be six ex-Azul Embraer 195, joining another six aircraft already in service with LOT.
