Mar 07, 2018 (newstodate): Delta Air Lines is not to reinstate services between the USA and Moscow - at least in 2018.
Starting from June 2003, Delta Air Lines was the first US carrier to serve Russia nonstop from its John F. Kennedy International Airport hub.
The carrier has since been online at Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport during most summer seasons but reduced the number of flights to Moscow from 2015 due to the crisis in the country's economy.
The carrier last relaunched services starting from May 21, 2017, on the seasonal route between New York and Moscow Sheremetyevo Airport, offering five weekly rotations with Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.
Together with Aeroflot, Delta Air Lines is member of the SkyTeam alliance and the two airlines will now seek ways to strengthen their cooperation on the Transatlantic route.
