Mar 22, 2018 (newstodate): Georgia's coming new airline MyWay Airlines has named its new Dep Commercial Director - Gregory Pomerantsev, who took up his new position from the start of this year.
A Belarus national, Mr Pomerantsev is a well-known figure in the Scandinavian, Baltic and East European aviation industry with a career starting with SAS as Dep Country Manager Belarus from August 1996 and later working with airBaltic in various positions from February 1997 till March 2012 where he last served as SVP Marketing & Sales.
Mr Pomerantsev later contributed in various capacities to Novosibirsk Airport, Flyvista, Ukraine International Airlines and other aviation-related companies.
MyWay Airlines plans to start business in the latter part of 2018 after obtaining its AOC and currently has two ex-Shandong Airlines Boeing 737-800 aircraft in the fleet.
The near-term plan envisages the opening of flights from Georgia to seven or eight destinations in Europe, the region, as well as in China.
The airline is part of the activities of the Chinese investment group Hualing that is also behind the establishing of a new industrial zone in Kutaisi as well as numerous real estate projects in Tbilisi and Kutaisi.
