Mar 27, 2018 (newstodate): The Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines has now taken delivery of its first Airbus A320 aircraft - and a second aircraft is expected soon.
GetJet signed the contract with AerCap on August 4, 2017, and after pre-delivery maintenance the aircraft was delivered in Vilnius on March 20, 2018, and will now be available on ACMI wet-lease and air charter contracts across Europe.
For a start, GetJet has landed a long-term contract with Finnair to operate flights from Helsinki to Budapest, Berlin, Vienna, Prague, Krakow and Paphos during the period June 8, 2018 - January 7, 2019.
A second Airbus A320 aircraft added to GetJet's AOC is now undergoing maintenance and will join the fleet of GetJet in time for the summer season.
-GetJet has been growing steadily for the last couple of years and adding the new Airbus A320 to our fleet is simply part of our long-term modernization and expansion strategy, says Darius Viltrakis, GetJet Airlines CEO since February 1, 2018.
In the fleet of GetJet are also four Boeing 737-400 and two Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
Set up in 2011 and based at Vilnius Airport, GetJet Airlines received its own AOC in 2016, starting business as an aircraft brokering company, but now focusing on charter and ACMI contracts for its aircraft fleet.
