Mar 06, 2018 (newstodate): Bulgaria is to make fresh efforts to attract foreign investors to a tender for managing Sofia Airport.
Last year's efforts ended without results as the tender - despite repeated renewals of the deadline - failed to attract sufficient interest among potential bidders.
But Bulgaria seems to be encouraged by the recent successful tendering of Serbia's Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport that ended with the French company Vinci signing a contract for a 25-year concession.
Plans are now to re-open a tender in this year's Q1 to attract private sector participation in Sofia Airport.
Prior to the opening af a new tender, EBRD may serve as a consultant to the Bulgarian Government performing legal and statistical analyses of the asset's performance over the last three years.
