Mar 19, 2018 (newstodate): Birmingham, in the UK, has been on/off as a destination from Iceland. Now another bid to reopening of the route has emerged.
Starting from December 6, 2018, Primera Air will be operating the route as one of several new routes out of Birmingham to be set up.
With the first flight on February 5, 2015, Icelandair added Birmingham to its route network - but laid down again from January 18, 2018.
Earlier, the UK carrier FlyBe operated flights on the route from June 29, 2014, but pulled out again by the end of the winter schedule on March 29, 2015.
Prior to that, the Icelandic LCC Iceland Express started flights to Birmingham from June 2010, but flights were suspended after the carrier was acquired by and merged with WOW Air in October 2012.
