Mar 07, 2018 (newstodate): According to CAAC, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the Chinese carrier Sichuan Airlines is opening four new international routes in 2018 - with Denmark's Copenhagen Airport among its new destinations.
The carrier is thus planning to start flights from Chengdu to Tel Aviv and Cairo already in April 2018, followed by start of flights to Boston in May, and finally adding flights to Copenhagen in July 2018.
The route from Chengdu to Copenhagen will be served twice weekly with Airbus A330/Airbus A350 aircraft, Cairo will also be served twice weekly, while the routes to Tel Aviv and Boston will see three weekly rotations.
If plans are realized, Sichuan Airlines will be the second Chinese carrier to launch flights to Copenhagen Airport where Air China is to start operations from Beijing on May 30, 2018, with four weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200 aircraft.
Sichuan Airlines is already present in Europe, opening flights from Chengdu to Prague from February 26, 2016, as the carrier's 6th European destination after Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London, Moscow, and Paris.
With the first flight on January 26, 2018, Sichuan Airlines also commenced scheduled service between St Petersburg and Chengdu
