Mar 12, 2018 (newstodate): Lithuania's airports are seeing changes at top management levels.
Managing Vilnius Airport since November 2016, Olaf Martens has decided to leave his position that has also comprised the management of Kaunas Airport.
As a result, the process for selecting a new candidate for management of Vilnius Airport has started, while the position of Kaunas Airport Manager has been filled by Tomas Urbonas, until now Kaunas Airport Head of Operations.
Also at Palanga Airport, the country's third airport managed by Lithuania Airports, the top management position has become vacant after airport manager since July 2014, Marius Gelzinis was raised to the position of Lithuanian Airports CEO from March 1, 2018.
The management position at Palanga Airport is now filled by Algirdas Makulavicius, Palanga Airport Head of Operations, as a temporary appointment.
Since July 1, 2014, all three state-owned international airports in Lithuania - Vilnius, Kaunas and Palanga - have been under unified management as one Plc, the state enterprise Lithuanian Airports, with Gediminas Almantas as its first CEO.
Mr Gediminas left this position by the end of February 2018, remaining as member of the Board.
