Mar 15, 2018 (newstodate): Once announcing the lofty vision to become "the World´s Greatest Aviation Service Provider", the Nordic handling group Aviator continues its downward slide in 2018.
Latest set-back is the loss of the ground handling contract with Ryanair at Oslo Airport, effective since October 30, 2016, and Ryanair has now opted for ground handling by Menzies instead from April 1, 2018.
With the loss of Ryanair, Aviator is to close down entirely at Oslo Airport.
In February news also broke that with effect from April 1, 2018, Air France/KLM will leave Aviator at all Norwegian stations excepting Stavanger and Oslo Airport, changing handling partner to Wideroe Ground Handling.
Measured in volume of flights, KLM is the fourth largest carrier at Norwegian airports after SAS, Norwegian and Wideroe.
Expectations, still unconfirmed, are that handling of KLM/Air France will now move from Aviator to SAS Ground Handling.
