Mar 06, 2018 (newstodate): Sweden's Stockholm Arlanda Airport is upbeat about the coming start of flights on a new route to Shanghai - the 3rd Chinese destination on its route map.
China Eastern has announced the start of services between Shanghai and Stockholm from June 16, 2018, with four weekly rotations using Airbus A330-200.
-Arlanda Cargo is very happy with the announced start of the Stockholm-Shanghai flights by China Eastern. Flights will be operated by new Airbus 330-200 aircraft, bringing in ample freight capacity, says Bas van Goch,
Cargo Operations Manager Arlanda Stockholm Airport.
-Since Shanghai is the biggest Airfreight destination from Sweden this opens opportunities to fly urgent freight directly from Stockholm. With the coming new service, we will also have direct wide-body flights to the three main destinations in Greater China: SAS to Hong Kong, Air China to Beijing and China Eastern to Shanghai.
-Intercontinental connections are growing rapidly from Stockholm Airport. Within the last 12 months four new destinations were added: Singapore, Delhi, Miami and now Shanghai. And the local market is always very fast with picking up, and filling, the new capacity, says Mr van Goch.
