Mar 01, 2018(newstodate): Ukraine's CAA is supportive of seeking access to the Finnish market for a new carrier, Alanna Airlines.
Alanna Airlines is the successor of the now-defunct Ukrainian ACMI and charter operator DART that lost its AOC after it was blacklisted by the US Department of the Treasury for doing business with Iran.
Now Alanna Airlines is seeking license to operate scheduled flights from Kiev to Helsinki, in Finland.
As Ukraine International Airlines is currently the only designated carrier on the route, it will have to wait, however, till a fresh round of aviation talks between Ukraine and Finland.
UIA is currently offering two weekly rotations on the route, going up to daily rotations in the coming summer schedule.
In the fleet of Alanna Airlines are former Dart's two Airbus A320, one Airbus A321 and one MD-80 aircraft.
